Homework

Homework is optional.

Every Friday, I will send home a new homework packet for your child to work on. The packet will also be available on this webpage in case you need to reprint anything. The packet will be "due" the following Friday, but I will always accept late packets too! While working on your homework, please consider these helpful reminders:

Plan for success.

Establish a routine! Choose a designated time and place for homework.

Work on the assignments when your child is rested and in a good mood.

Only work for 20-30 minutes at a time at most!

Do your best.

Use a pencil for printing and crayons or colored pencils for coloring.

Remind your child about your expectations for neatness and effort BEFORE they get started.

Give lots of praise when those expectations are met.

** I would rather you do a little bit of neat, thoughtful work than a lot of messy, rushed work. **

Offer support, not answers.

Struggle is okay and part of the learning process.  

​

Keep it positive.

Please avoid yelling, punishing, or fighting with your child over homework.
