Homework

During distance learning, homework is mandatory.
Every Friday, I will supply a new weekly packet for your child to work on. The packet can be picked up at school or printed off of this page. The packet will be due the following Friday. All work will be submitted electronically through Seesaw. While working on your homework, please consider these helpful reminders:

Plan for success.

Establish a routine and a designated spot for homework, work on the assignments when your child is rested and in a good mood, and only work for 10-20 minutes at a time.

Do your best.

Use a pencil for printing and crayons for coloring. Remind your child about your expectations for neatness and effort before they get started and give lots of praise and hugs when those expectations are met. I would rather you do a little bit of neat, thoughtful work than a lot of messy, rushed work.

Offer support, not answers.

Struggle is part of the learning process.

Keep it positive.

Please avoid yelling, punishing, or fighting with your child over homework. This is their first experience with homework. It should be fun and exciting for them. If the homework seems too hard for your child, please contact me for suggestions.
